It was always my intention to open my own business. My Dad had his own successful business for 20 plus years before he retired and my husband opened his first bike shop at the age of 18 and continues to have a real passion for business. I am aware of the ups and downs of business and the exceptional hard work that it requires but I always had a sense that it was something I wanted to dive into. Despite the challenges, to have the opportunity to cultivate something I firmly believe in feels so exciting.
I have been dreaming about the creation of Centered Health well before I became a Chiropractor. I wanted a natural health hub where the community could be treated in a holistic, empowering way and therefore be inspired to feel better. I guess the real beginning of this journey started when I took the leap of faith to return to study Chiropractic at the age of 31. I was incredibly nervous, had real doubts about my ability to actually get through, but also, very hopeful. At the end of the day, I thought to myself that I just had to give it a go as I didn’t want to end up having any regrets about not trying. It really was a very proud moment for me when I graduated.
I loved my seven years at Integrated Health Care, I learnt a lot and most rewardingly, developed wonderful relationships with my patients. It was, however, time for me to step outside of my zone of comfort and to be brave enough to start to make my dream a reality. I am excited to continue to put into practice all that I have learnt but to also bring into the mix new techniques that I have learnt over the last two years from some masters in the field of applied kinesiology. Over time I would like to write some blogs about what these are and how they may be able to help you feel better, in the meantime, feel free to ask me.
As I sit here reflecting on my first two months of operating Centered Health, the thing I feel most grateful for is you, my patients’. It is such an honour that you share your stories with me and allow me to be a part of your lives. I care about you all so much and it is the motivation that inspires me to keep learning so that I can make a difference.
The outpouring of love and support I have received during the transition period and the beginning of Centered Health has been mind blowing to me. It has been one of those pure moments of joy in life that I will never forget. So thank you, so much. I’m really excited to share this journey with you all and to see where we can take it.
